Killswitch Engage React to 2014 Grammy Nod
2013 has been a great year for Killswitch Engage. It's the band's first full year with vocalist Jesse Leach back in the lineup, and with Leach, Killswitch released 'Disarm the Descent' and embarked on some awesome tours. To cap off the year, Killswitch Engage have been nominated for a 2014 Grammy, with Leach announcing his excitement in a press release.
After longtime Killswitch vocalist Howard Jones departed the metalcore band in early 2012, many were unsure if a new singer could command the power Jones gave Killswitch Engage for 10 years. However, when original vocalist Jesse Leach returned, those worries were squashed from Day 1. The triumphant comeback of Killswitch Engage is worthy of accolades, and the group may win their first Grammy at the 2014 ceremony.
Killswitch Engage was nominated in the Best Metal Performance category in 2005 for 'The End of Heartache,' but lost to Motorhead's 'Whiplash.' As for the band's 2014 nod, Jesse Leach says:
All of us in Killswitch Engage are pleased to be nominated for a Grammy! We are also honored to share this nomination with such great bands. No matter what the outcome, it means even more to us to be able to do what we love and have such amazing fans. Huge thanks to everyone that has supported us and to all the hardworking people who help make this band what it is --we can't do this with out you! It is refreshing to see metal being noticed by the Grammys and we hope in the future it receives even more exposure and recognition. Cheers to all!
