Slur-rock giants Kings of Leon just announced the dates for a summer amphitheater tour. This new leg of their 'Mechanical Bull' tour will run from July 31 through the beginning of October. The band has been touring most of this year so far in support of their sixth album 'Mechanical Bull' (duh).

More tour dates means more opportunity for tour hijinks. In the past, the band has had its fair share of strange happenings. Back in 2010, they were forced offstage after playing just three songs from their 20-song set. The offenders that bullied the band into submission? Pigeons with full lower intestines. The band was covered in bird poop from the pigeons that had infested the rafters above the stage where they were playing.

Then in March, a fan exposed other concertgoers to measles at a show in Washington state on the last leg of the 'Mechanical Bull' tour. It appears that the band's music did not, in fact, supercharge the measles virus, causing it to evolve into a supervirus that could wipe out the western seaboard. So everyone got off lucky.

Tickets for the third leg of the 'Mechanical Bull' tour go on sale Friday at Live Nation. You can check out a new tour video above. Here are the dates:
