In recent years, 4th of July celebrations have also become synonymous with food eating competitions. Pie eating contests, watermelon eating contests and, probably the most popular, hot dog eating contests. Nothing says 'America' like shoving hot dogs down your gullet, and in mass consumption in record time.

A new hot dog eating competition called the Crif Dog Classic happened yesterday in Brooklyn. The winner? no surprise it's our favorite hot dog eating champion, Takeru Kobayashi. How this scrawny toothpick could manage to down 58.5 hot dogs in 10 minutes is beyond me.

So, for your viewing pleasure, 10 minutes of a bunch of dudes eating hot dogs.

What really gets me about these anymore is that New York passed a law that you can't sell soda that's over 16 ounces, but eating 58 hot dogs in one setting is perfectly fine.
