Korn have reportedly filed a lawsuit against former drummer David Silveria. According to The Blast, Silveria is allegedly in violation of his break-up agreement with Korn after he contacted a royalty company demanding payments he was not entitled to.

The Blast claim they’ve received documents detailing the agreement made between Korn’s Jonathan Davis, James ‘Munky’ Shaffer, Brian ‘Head’ Welch, Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu and David Silveria following the drummer’s 2006 departure from the band.

Korn agreed to giving Silveria a lump sum of money in return for the drummer giving up his rights to future Korn royalties. However, Silveria’s 2018 contact with SoundExchange (the company that handles Korn’s royalties) is in direct violation of his agreement.

Due to Silveria’s attempt to claim royalties from SoundExchange, the company placed a hold on all royalty payments to Korn. The nu-metal pioneers claim to have lost out on $290,000 in payments since SoundExchange froze Korn’s account.

Korn are suing Silveria for breach of contract and are attempting to legally bar the drummer from attempting to collect future royalties.
