Seattle Police Release Kurt Cobain Death-Scene Note
As if all the photos released from Kurt Cobain's death scene weren't enough, the Seattle Police Department has now shared a note written by the late rocker.
The note, which was found in Cobain's wallet after his April 5, 1994, suicide, is mostly just a bunch of angry words aimed at Cobain's wife, Courtney Love. The note is written on stationery from San Francisco's Phoenix Hotel (which is "popular with a rock 'n' roll hipster clientele," CBS News helpfully points out).
Cobain-Love relationship was always a rocky one, so it's not clear if the words, supposedly hand-penned by Cobain, were meant to be taken seriously or sarcastically (we have a pretty good guess, though).
“Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawfully shredded wife even when she’s a bitch with zits and siphoning all yr money for doping and whoring … ” it reads.
There's been speculation for years that Love had a hand in Cobain's death, whether directly or leading him to the shotgun blast that ended his life. A recent reexamination of the case turned up nothing new.
