Mariners DH Adam Lind pulled victory from the jaws of defeat with one  swing, hitting a game-winning three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning off Cardinals reliever Trevor Rosenthal, as Seattle snapped a six-game losing skid and rallied for a 4-3 win over St. Louis last night before 35,746 delirious fans.

After six innings of stout and contrasted pitching styles by both club's starting pitchers, the contest sat at 1-0 with the M's clinging precariously to the lead. The Card put up a three-spot in the top of the eighth inning and the good ship U.S.S. Mariner was staring another iceberg for the seventh consecutive game. Seattle then opened the ninth with a double by Kyle Seager, who missed hitting it out by a hair, followedby a base on balls to first baseman Dae-Ho Lee. Lind then reached down and drove a 1-1 off-speed pitch to the deep right field seats for his fourth career walk-off home run. It was the third bomb given up this year by the St. Louis closer, now 2-3, and his third blown save.
