As someone who obtains services from Children's Village, you have the pleasure of meeting several families with amazing stories. One such family has a 2-year-old with a story worth sharing.

Fighting for his life with every breath he takes, he has stunned everyone with his courageous effort to refuse to give up on life. With multiple trips to Seattle and various surgeries, forcing his father to leave work, they are struggling to make ends meet. This is how you can help!

Two-year-old Christian Lybbert has been fighting for his life since his very first breath. He had his first surgery at just three weeks old, after stunned doctors discovered that he had a severe congenital heart defect and malformed and missing organs. Since that fateful day, Christian has had three additional heart surgeries and four abdominal surgeries, along with countless minor procedures and painful testing. Christian's most recent stay at Seattle Children's hospital was only supposed to last for seven days, but four abdominal surgeries in two weeks led to a series of life threatening complications that has extended the family's stay into its seventh week.
Before I get too deep into this, know that all of Christian's life support, surgeries, testing and medical bills are all covered and during their extended trips to Seattle they stay at Ronald McDonald house so that's covered, too. That's great news!

The family is not able to cover things like the power bill, keeping food in the fridge, gas to and from various hospital trips and other items not covered. They could sure use a helping hand.

Any amount, no matter how humble, will be graciously accepted. All money donated via the link below will go straight to the family to help with day-to-day expenses until the father is back on a working schedule.

If you have the capacity, donate a buck or two, would ya? They're a very gracious, thankful and generous family and I've had the pleasure to meet Mom and Christian on several occasions (as well as the rest of the family). If it weren't for their current situation, they'd do the same for you, I guarantee it.
