We get a sneak peek at three new tracks for Mario's anticipated return to the asphalt in Mario Kart 8.

These new photos of Mario Kart 8's newest courses were originally tweeted by Nintendo UK. The first picture depicts a level called "Sweet Sweet Canyon." It looks like Candyland with one mean-looking piranha plant in the middle. The next racecourse is called the "Mario Circuit," which appears to be a standard, beginner's course.

On the other hand, "Thwomp Ruins" appears to be quite dangerous. Based on the pictures, there are multiple ways of navigating the course, each with its own fair share of danger, especially in Thwomp form. Make sure you don't get crushed by the classic Mario enemy while you're racing through the level.

Mario Kart 8 will be hitting the Wii U on May 30, 2014.
