Today (Jan. 18) is a day for all of us to celebrate. It is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. His dream, as is all of ours, is for everyone to simply get along and enjoy each other for what we are, not what we look like.  In Yakima, the 32nd annual Peace March in remembrance of Dr. King will be held today beginning at noon. The parade route will start at Fifth Avenue and MLK Boulevard, right by Safeway.

The grand marshal, the Rev. Juliet Hemphill, will guide the march south on Eighth, winding up at the Yakima Convention Center on the corner of Yakima Avenue, concluding with a presentation.

A free lunch will be served beginning at 2 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center at 1211 S. Seventh St.

I try to live my life like this every single day, yet the world around me seems to be stuck back in time.  My dream is that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's dream comes true.
