The pieces are now in place, the writing sessions have been completed and it looks as though recording is ready to begin on the next Megadeth disc. After the recent announcements of Kiko Loureiro joining Megadeth's lineup and Lamb of God's Chris Adler joining the legendary thrash act in the studio, Dave Mustaine is now serving up details on new album plans.

As has been documented, guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover left the band last fall following their Super Collider promotional responsibilities, but before Megadeth got full swing into focus for their 15th album. In the period that followed, Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson forged ahead with work on the new album despite not having the rest of the lineup figured out. As Ellefson stated, the music informed the players they ended up choosing for the upcoming disc.

Now, Mustaine has offered several tweets over the last few days providing nuggets on the recording process. It started on April 5 as Mustaine delivered the first recording tease:

A day later, Mustaine offered reaction to the response of bringing Loureiro and Adler into the studio, sharing his excitement in the process:

David Ellefson recently stated in an interview that the Megadeth have pushed back plans to tour this summer in order to make sure they're able to finish the album in the way that they wish. Stay tuned to see how the new lineup comes together.
