Megadeth have been on the road supporting their latest album, Dystopia, which netted a No. 3 spot on the Billboard 200 in its debut week. While in the Northeast, the thrash legends swung by Berklee College of Music in Boston before their performance in the state's capital city Monday night (March 21).

The band was invited to watch the Megadeth Ensemble at the college by Bass Department chair Steve Bailey, as reported by the Boston Globe. Bailey was hoping Dave Mustaine and the rest of the group could give the ensemble tips, but it got even better when bassist David Ellefson and guitarist Kiko Loureiro jammed the Megadeth classic, "Tornado of Souls" off Rust in Peace with the students.

The ensemble is rounded out by singer Yoav Ruiz-Feingold, guitarists Kristopher Wong and Julian Salas, David Crozier on the drums and is overseen by instructor David Marvuglio. The photo below, tweeted by Boston Globe Arts, shows Mustaine playing alongside one of the ensemble's students.

Earlier this year, on the eve of their North American tour, Mustaine joined students onstage at the School of Rock in Texas. School of Rock CEO Dzana Homan was emphatic about the icon's appearance, stating, “At School of Rock, we strive to provide cutting-edge opportunities that sharpen our students’ instrument skills and strengthen their dedication. We are fortunate to have rock legend Dave Mustaine share his musical expertise. His passion for rock ‘n’ roll is the ultimate inspiration that will motivate our students to channel their inner rock stars.”

Following the tour's conclusion, Megadeth will be hitting the festival circuit in North American in late April followed by a series of European festival over the summer. For a full list of festivals, head to our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Festivals.
