Friday evening (Jan. 20), Metallica were the talk of the town in Los Angeles as they were on hand for the invitation only unveiling of the art exhibit Obey Your Master. The highly anticipated exhibition featured an array of famed artists who have interpreted various songs from the band in a unique fashion.

The concept of the special exhibit is having the participating artists chose a song by Metallica and allow their artistic sides express their vision of the tune, based on the lyrics and music. Artists who are involved in the project and have their work on display in the exhibition include Slipknot‘s percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, Black Veil Brides lead vocalist Andy Biersack and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo along with his wife Chloe.

Obey Your Master opens to the general public today, Jan. 23 at Los Angeles’ Exhibit A Gallery. The pieces will be on display and available for purchase through March 23. For more information, visit the Exhibit A Gallery’s official website by clicking here.
