Metallica are taking the Record Store Day ambassador thing pretty seriously. Not only do they have a pair of box set reissues (Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning) coming out during Record Store Day week and a special live album recorded at Paris' Le Bataclan specifically designed to arrive as part of Record Store Day, they're also going to be playing an in-store on Record Store Day.

The band has announced plans to perform live at Rasputin Music in Berkeley, Calif., on Saturday, April 16. "Getting loud, noisy and sweaty at Rasputin's on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley transports Metallica right back to the core of its Bay Area beginnings," said drummer Lars Ulrich. "We can't wait to celebrate Record Store Day while shaking up the East Bay old-school style."

Rasputin Music customers and Met Club members are invited to be in the audience at this rare in-store experience by entering to win tickets. There are two ways to enter. Visit Rasputin Music in Berkeley between now and April 10 to fill out a ballot for your chance to win ONE ticket to the special show. Or, if you're a Met Club member, click here to enter for the chance to win a ticket.

Metallica have a long history with Record Store Day, dating back to a memorable in-store appearance at the very first Record Store Day in 2008 at the Mountain View Rasputin Records. Last year's cassette-issued demos collection, No Life Til Leather, ended up being Record Store Day's biggest seller in 2015. This year, fans can look forward to the release of Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica! - Live at Le Bataclan. Paris, France - June 11th, 2003, a disc sold with proceeds going to aid families affected by last year's terrorist attack on Le Bataclan during an Eagles of Death Metal show. You can also donate directly at this location.
