It's been an eventful 24 hours for Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil. As we previously reported, the band had to end their Sunday (March 10) performance in Sydney, Australia, early when Neil was rushed to the hospital and it was later revealed that the singer was suffering from kidney stones. Now comes word that the vocalist underwent surgery to remove the stones.

Shortly after the show ended, both Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars took to twitter to elaborate on the situation. Sixx stated that Neil had been suffering from internal pain and had to be rushed to the hospital, while Mars would later confirm that it was kidney stones that was causing his pain.

In an update since our last report, Sixx tweeted, "Vince is in surgery right now. He's a true warrior. I'm gonna write a full update on Facebook. Been texting with Vince all night." True to his word, Sixx posted a lengthier explanation of events on his Facebook site. The posting reads as follows:

Hey guys, I just woke here in Sydney. As many have heard we had to cut our set short by 4 songs last night due to Vince be in severe pain on stage .. He was doubled over on his dressing room floor 5 minutes till show time and was told by the promoter to not even play but Vince said he couldn’t do that to the fans. I’ve seen Vinnie go onstage with broken bones, his voice completely blown out and torn ligaments but he never ever cancels … Just like an athlete you sometimes have to play through the pain but last night it became to excruciating.

I was texting with Vince most of the night last night as he was just waiting for the doctor to come back with the test results. This morning we found out he had to be admitted into surgery to remove kidney stones. He Just got out 5 minutes ago and the doctors said everything went well in the operating room. I am going to the hospital to see him before I head to Brisbane. Will update you more later … Nikki.

Vince Neil then chimed in himself with his own update via Facebook, along with a photo from his hospital bed (below):

Just out of surgery. Spent night in hospital probably have to again tonight. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. Doc says I should have a full recovery and be back onstage for the Brisbane show tomorrow. Thanks to my bandmates and crew for your support!"

Motley Crue have been touring Australia with Kiss. Their next scheduled show is Tuesday night (March 12) in Brisbane, and according to Neil's statement, the band should be ready to go.
