A crowd-sourced fundraising page has been established by an East Valley teacher at YouCaring.com. As of this writing, more than $3,000 has been raised to help the kids as they move on without either parent. Donations are also being accepted at the town's only tavern/bar, the Silver Creek Bar & Grill.

A Facebook Event Page has also been set up to promote a car wash this weekend to support the Mendoza family and the four children left behind in wake of this weekend's shocking news in the small community.

The car wash will be Sunday (July 12) at the Coastal Farm and Ranch store on South First Street from 9 a.m. until there are no more cars left to be washed.

The page contains the following plea from the organizer(s):
"A very close a dear friend has recently been through a tragic family loss. She and her younger siblings have lost both of their parents this past weekend. You may or may not have heard about this on the local Yakima news, but now more than ever she needs all of the love and support that she can have to get through such a tough time. We will be having a car wash this up coming weekend on Sunday the 12th from 9 am until there are no more cars left to help her out as much as possible . Please come out to support her in her time of need and help us raise money for her and her younger siblings. Thank You all....and God Bless."
