Having grown up in West Valley, it has been interesting to watch the growth of that area over the last three-plus  decades.  Where cherry and apple orchards once stood, strip shopping malls and housing developments now occupy.

About 10 years ago, my wife and I moved across they valley to the (then) small town of Moxee.  At the time, according to the 2000 Census, about 800 folks lived in the rural farming town, known most for its production of hops.  In ten years since, the town has nearly quadrupled in size yet still has a small town feel that I became so accustomed to from my childhood.

My wife and son and I are proud to have called Moxee home for the last 10 years and can't foresee ourselves leaving any time soon.  It's a great place to raise a family where everybody knows one another and looks out for each other.  But don't let that get out. We'd like to keep it that way! :)

The folks at OnlyInYourState.com agree and included Moxee in their list of 12 Towns In Washington If You Wanna Get Away From It All.  by "getting away from it all" they describe their selections like this:
"Whether you’re looking for a place to retire or just to find a new small town where you can move to that’s far away from all of the craziness in this world, there are a number of remarkable communities throughout Washington that are quite isolated and peaceful."
