The Music Community Reacts to the Charlie Hebdo Attack

In the wake the tragic events that took place at the Paris headquarters of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, people across the world have reached out to share their sympathies and support for the publication -- including those in the music community.

After three gunmen opened fire, killing 12, many quickly condemned the terrible acts of violence. As Charlie Hebdo was known for not balking in the face of controversy -- often making organized religions, politicians and more the butt of its jokes -- others yet argued that the shootings were attacks on freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech, thought and creativity are no doubt close to the hearts of many of the musicians who have since reached out via Twitter and Instagram to show their solidarity with Charlie Hebdo.
