Better get used to the idea of a rekindled rivalry with the 49ers, they just signed the best QB they've had in years to a record contract.

Last year, the addition of Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers from the New England Patriots was met with shock and jealousy from a lot of other teams in the NFL that had tried to trade for the now former backup to Tom Brady.

The craziest thing were the details of the trade deal, with the 49ers acquired Garoppolo in October from the Patriots for a 2018 second-round pick. The quarterback was in the final year of his rookie deal, which at the time was a STEAL.

No matter who the Patriots draft with that 2018 pick, it's clear the 49ers got the much better end of the deal. The 49ers apparently have agreed to terms on a five-year contract with Garoppolo worth $137.5 million, according to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The deal is the largest in NFL history on an average-per-year basis.
