OK Go are known for their innovative and creative music videos, namely 'Here It Goes Again' and 'This Too Shall Pass.' It's their "thing." They want to keep the streak alive with their video for the song 'I'm Not Through,' so the band is enlisting your help. That is, if you're a budding filmmaker.

The OK Go Saatchi & Saatchi Music Video Challenge 2013 is underway, with sponsorship from Talenthouse, a platform for legit artists, and BUG. It is the third in a series of Saatchi & Saatchi competitions designed to open the door for emerging filmmakers by offering them the opportunity to create videos for high-profile bands.

OK Go lead singer and guitarist Damian Kulash provided points of inspiration and elucidation for interested parties, including Instagram photos he personally shot and set to the funkdafied new track.

"I’ve been listening to a lot of '60s and '70s soul, and I think this was my attempt to get the same space and groove that I love from Percy Sledge or Solomon Burke," Kulash said. "It turned out way more electro-disco than that. Whenever I do anything with a falsetto voice and a groove to it, people go straight to Prince in their heads—which is fine with me. He’s one of my biggest idols."

So there's some context, provided by Kulash himself, which can be factored into the vision of possible directors. The reason OK Go are turning to budding filmmakers for this clip is so they can focus on another task: finishing their new album.

"Clearly, making videos is a pretty big part of our lives, but while we're in the studio finishing our new record, our heads are exclusively focused on the songs," Kulsah said. "So, it feels right to let other people into the playroom while we're not using it. It's a good way to encourage people to go forth and make. A great idea is a great idea. You don't need us standing in front of your camera to make a great video."

The contest runs through May 7.

A judging panel -- headed by Kulash and comprising members of the Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide Creative Board and BUG -- will select 10 finalists from all eligible submissions received. Results will be announced at the end of May.

The prize booty is pretty sweet. The winner will be invited to spend a full week at Cannes Lions in June 2013, and the clip will be screened at the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase. There will also be a People's Choice Winner, based on a public vote.
