It's hard to believe that 19 years have passed since the final baseball game was ever played in Seattle's Kingdome.

It was on this date in 1999 that the Seattle Mariners hosted the Texas Rangers, after only 22 seasons in the concrete mausoleum, one last time. As usual, Ken Griffey, Jr., at the height of his career, provided - not one, but two - memorable moments as players and fans bid farewell to the Dome before moving across Royal Brougham Way into the beautiful Safeco Field.

Griffey made a spectacular leaping catch over the centerfield wall to rob former AL MVP Juan Gonzalez of a certain home run before hitting his own final dinger in the dome.
