There's good news and bad news. Bad news is you can't light fireworks in the city limits of Yakima. Unless you're just lighting sparklers and those ashy, charcoal snakes you're SOL. The good news is you can light off fireworks in a few surrounding areas. If you have some fireworks and you want to celebrate the 4th of July by lighting stuff off, fireworks are legal in the towns of Zillah, Moxee, Mabton, Grandview and Granger. But they're only legal until 11pm. Lighting them after that could cost you a $250 fine so it's best to light them at dusk when you can see them the best and get it out of the way.

As always, keep it safe.
