Prophets of Rage will be hitting the road for a North American tour this year! After captivating the rock world with a handful of gigs, the group of modern legends will begin a two-month string of dates beginning Aug. 19.

Prophets of Rage features the instrumental section of Rage Against the Machine along with Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real. The band debuted in Los Angeles last week, performing a pair of gigs before jetting off to New York City. Prophets were scheduled to play Governors Ball, but bad weather cancelled the event’s final day. A small number of fans were still able to see Prophets of Rage, however, as the group took the stage at Brooklyn’s Warsaw Ballroom last night (June 5).

Fans of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill have been dying to see Prophets of Rage play favorites from all three acts, and they’ll be able to in a few months. Prophets of Rage will begin the tour Aug. 19 in Fairfax, Va. and finish up Oct. 16 in Chula Vista, Calif.

Prophets of Rage will also perform in opposition to the Republican National Convention on July 19. No official information has been revealed for the RNC performance, but Tom Morello promises Prophets will be “rocking furiously in and around the RNC.”
