After some very public feuding, it appears as though Queensyrche and their former frontman Geoff Tate have come to an amicable split. While nothing was confirmed as of last week, it was noticeable that Tate’s website was now billing him as “The Voice of Queensryche,” suggesting that the long-rumored settlement had been finalized.

Tate’s longtime bandmates — Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Michael Wilton — along with recent band additions — have confirmed the settlement and revealed that their lineup, which includes singer Todd La Torre, will now be the sole entity recording under the Queensryche moniker.

While both Tate and his former bandmates released albums under the Queensryche moniker and toured under the name as well last year, it is the La Torre-led version that will maintain the name. But Tate didn’t come out of the settlement process without some key pieces.

Tate has been granted the exclusive full-album performance rights to the band’s hugely successful ‘Operation: Mindcrime’ disc as well as its sequel.

The longtime members of Queensryche along with Tate released the joint statement:

We wanted to let Queensryche fans around the world know that an amicable settlement has been reached between Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, Michael Wilton and Geoff Tate with regard to the future of the Queensryche name. According to the agreement, original Queensryche members Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Michael Wilton along with recent members, Todd La Torre and Parker Lundgren, will now be the sole entity recording and touring as Queensryche, performing selections from their entire musical catalog that spans over 30 years of material. Original Queensryche lead singer Geoff Tate will continue to record, perform and pursue a variety of other creative endeavors and, as part of the agreement, will have the exclusive rights to perform Operation: Mindcrime I and II in their entirety as a unique performance. Both sides wish each other well and are excited about what the future holds. We want to thank the fans for standing beside us through this ordeal and look forward to sharing our music with you for years to come. – Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield, Michael Wilton and Geoff Tate

Queensryche recently revealed that they are working on a follow-up to their 2013 album, which was their first with Todd La Torre as their new vocalist. Tate, meanwhile, has one final date as “Queensryche starring Geoff Tate” that will be held Aug. 9 in Morgan Hill, Calif. In February, Tate stated that his music plans were on hold until the settlement was concluded.
