Virginia-based Random Holiday have released two EPs, a split album with fellow pop-punkers Batten Down the Hatches and their own debut full-length, ‘Space to Grow’ — all before the quartet’s high school graduation.

The foursome released their debut EP when they were just 15 years old, and as you might expect, 'Space to Grow' reveals how they've since developed their enthusiastic pop-punk sound and widened their pool of influences. Ultimately, they've offered up a more dynamic and thoughtful record.

‘Walk Before You Run,’ today's free MP3, is a departure from the unwavering energy typically found in Random Holiday’s songs. Despite the fact the band's members just graduated, are preparing for an upcoming summer tour and are undoubtedly going through a long list of other changes associated with their age, they took the song as an opportunity to write an acoustic ballad about a girl — but it’s not what you think. You won’t find any crying about high school heartbreak here. Rather, singer-guitarist Mike Frazier told Diffuser.fm that he wrote the song to say thanks to his mom. Say it with us now, “Aw!”

“It’s about my mother and all she’s done for me, and also how when you love someone, sometimes you have to let them go,” he said.
