Following yesterday's 2-1 upset victory over nemesis Ghana (the country who has twice knocked the U.S. out) in the opening round of World Cup soccer play, I was reminded of this YouTube gem that I stumbled across following Landon Donovan's improbable goal against Algeria in 2010. (Click here for a refresher.)

I don't "favorite" too many YouTube videos, but this is one that I will click on from time to time just to raise my spirits.  This video is a well-produced compilation of reaction from around the world at the very moment of Donovan's "Golden Goal."  In fact, I would submit that this is the very use that YouTube was invented for.

Like many American's, I only pay attention to Futbol when the Olympics or World Cup roll around but it doesn't diminish the swell of pride I feel when hearing groups of strangers hug, high-five and chant "U-S-A!  U-S-A!"  It could be the "Rudy" theme music, the English accent of broadcaster Ian Darke shouting, "Goal!  Goal! USA!  Certainly through!  Oh, it's incredible!" or just the sight of people from all around the world forgetting their differences and rallying around each other in a true display of the Brotherhood of Mankind.

Regardless, I hope you enjoy this as much as I and, like the video says:

"We're USA and we're going all the way!"
