Jerry Garcia would have turned 72 on Aug. 1, and Brooklyn indie rockers Real Estate commemorated the occasion at their show in San Francisco on Friday with a cover of the Grateful Dead song 'He's Gone.'

Frontman Martin Courtney prefaced the song by saying, "So, we're going to try our hand at a cover now. We threw this together this afternoon, but I'm excited about it, I guess."

Real Estate are currently supporting their third full-length, 'Atlas,' which was released in March. Watch their video for 'Had to Hear' below:
