There's nothing like a good cause to bring people together, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and his celebrity doppelganger Will Ferrell set aside their differences to play in the same band at a Seattle-based benefit for the Cancer for College organization.

Smith, along with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan Lessard, Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan and singer Brandi Carlile took the stage at the event playing under the moniker I Pissed My Pants.

The drummer had teased an appearance at the event, stating that he figured Ferrell would "pop off" over his alleged "Drum Off" victory over Smith that took place earlier this year on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.' It was Smith who brought out Ferrell to kick the song off, but the pair tensely met onstage with Ferrell declaring, "Are you guys actually musicians?" The band then worked their way through the Rolling Stones' classic 'Honky Tonk Women' with Ferrell's cowbell skills being put to use.

Ferrell had selected Cancer for College as his charity of choice for the first "Drum Off" earlier this year and once again worked with the organization during the show at Seattle's Meany Hall for the Performing Arts. Cancer for College was founded in 1994 by Craig Pollard, a two-time cancer survivor. "Knowing that I would ultimately return to college after my bone marrow transplant gave me the strength to keep fighting," says Pollard, who created the organization to provide others for inspiration as well.
