Early Sunday morning news starting circulating about coaching positions opening and being filled around the league.

It's the usual talk the last day of the NFL regular season.

Then Fox Sport's Jay Glazer reported a rumor about Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Glazer reported that Carroll, only 66, was very seriously considering retirement at the end of the season.

This is typical rumor material for a team that has some salary cap and aging player issues.

Offensive line coach Tom Cable is in the rumor mill as well. NFL gossipers are reporting he is being considered for a head coaching job in Indy that hasn't opened up yet.

Don't grab the noose yet, 12's. Our head coach immediately took to Twitter to shoot that retirement rumor down. Glazer then backed down from his earlier reporting.
