Rogue Makes A Maple Bacon Ale For Voodoo Doughnut
The two things I love most about Portland, Oregon is Rogue beer and Voodoo Doughnut. Combine both of my loves and you get this Bacon Maple inspired ale from Rogue.
If you’ve never been there, Voodoo Doughnut is home to some awesome doughnut creations like doughnuts sprinkled with Froot Loops and other breakfast cereals as well as one of their signature doughnuts which looks like a little man with a pretzel stabbed in the heart. One of their most popular is a bacon maple bar. Simply, a maple bar with a couple strips of bacon on it. Inspired, Rogue turned this idea and made an beer based on this, complete with signature pink bottling as a dozen Voodoo Doughnuts comes in a pink box.
I have yet to try this beer. I’m saving it for a special occasion. When I do, I’ll let you know how it is. I’m predicting it won’t be something I’ll buy often, but for it’s novelty factor I had to buy at least once bottle.
