After over a decade of being snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Canadian power trio RUSH finally got their just due when they were inducted into the pantheon on April 18th, 2013 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

What ensued might be the most epic award acceptance speech ever.

Following their official induction by Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins (which you can see by clicking here) drummer Neal Peart and bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee gave very heartfelt remarks, most notably to their rabid fanbase. The stage was then set for the eccentricity of guitarist Alex Lifeson who single-handedly showed the triviality of such self-congratulatory ceremonies but also displayed a genuine appreciation for his band mates and fans.

The band followed their acceptance with a performance of their classic "Tom Sawyer"
