The pro football media is out with their final regular season power rankings, and they all have the Seattle Seahawks firmly entrenched at No. 1.

The analysts at ESPN focused on the Seahawks' defense in putting Seattle on top.

Since losing to the Chiefs in Week 11, the Seahawks have won six straight games and allowed 6.5 points per game. Talk about ending the season the right way.

Pat Kirwan at CBS Sports says the 2014 Seahawks is a special team.

Home-field advantage belongs to the Seahawks throughout the NFC playoffs and they have given up only 39 points the past six weeks. Roster depth and a magician at QB (Russell Wilson) make them the favorites to repeat.

Elliott Harrison at NFL.com had praise for Seattle free safety Earl Thomas.

So it looked dicey for a half on Sunday, but the defending champs eventually took care of business. And for the second straight season, Seattle will force NFC teams to visit the toughest place to play in the NFL. We caught some phaser fire for our reference to the Organian Peace Treaty last week, so we won't go there again. On a football note, it is amazing how many parsecs Earl Thomas covers out there at safety.

The experts had the AFC's top team, the New England Patriots, in the No. 2 spot.
