Seahawks Slide in NFL Power Rankings After Loss to Cowboys

Seattle is no longer the top team in the rankings, but most experts still have them in the top five.

At Fox Sports, Dan Shcneier has Seattle at No. 5.

Without the big play on special teams and fortunate fumble recovery luck, the Seahawks might have been blown out after being dominated at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. That statement hasn’t been true about any home game this team has played in quite some time.

 

Pat Kirwan at CBS Sports also puts the Seahawks in fifth place.

The Seahawks are still a top team but a few recent injuries have become an issue. The Seahawks figure to rebound, but may be looking at a season in which they win 10 games and still manage a playoff berth.

 

His colleague at CBS Sports, Pete Prisco, has them down a notch further.

They've shown some vulnerability this season. They can't win with 200 yards of offense like they had against Dallas.

 

At NFL.com, Elliott Harrison puts Seattle at No. 5.

Forget that Seattle's front seven got pushed around by that Cowboys offensive line this past Sunday. Think more about the three Percy Harvin touchdowns that were called back in D.C., or the fatigue that set in at San Diego. Essentially, when (or if) the Seahawks put it all together, they should ascend rapidly -- perhaps to the very top. But the point is, at this juncture, Pete Carroll's team is underachieving.
