Section of Powerhouse Road Closed Until Late November

If you drive Powerhouse Road be aware that a section of the road closed Wednesday until late November.
Yakima city crews are busy with a sewer extension project which runs from the Riverview Manor mobile home court to just short of Cowiche Canyon Road.
The closure is 24-hours a day 7 days a week until it's completed.
A news release from the city says;

"Detours, signs and reader boards will be in place to alert drivers. Residents at the south end of the project area will have access from 40th Avenue. Those at the north end of the project area will have access from Ackley Road, off of U.S. Highway 12.

Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the project area.

The project may cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection. Contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 575-6005 for more information."
