I have a lot of good ideas. Problem is, most of them suck.
I did come up with one yesterday though that I think should merit some consideration.

For many years, there has been a notion floating about to make the day after the Super Bowl a national holiday.  It's never picked up much steam but I though of a way to tweak it that might just make it a reality.

Let's face it. The day after the game is likely a highly unproductive day at many businesses as most of the workforce is tired (east coast, especially), hung over, or spending the majority of their time on the clock hanging around the water cooler talking about the game itself, the commercials, halftime entertainment, etc. in between periods of pretending like they are actually working!

My proposal: Instead of creating a new holiday, let's just get NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to schedule the season so that the Super Bowl falls on the Sunday before Presidents Day!

That federal holiday is already in place around the middle of February (it lands on NEXT Monday, Feb. 15, this year) already and, honestly, who really gives a rip about that holiday anyway?

I think it would shed some light on our founding fathers who -- really -- fought for our right to pursue happiness, no?  It would also further cement America's love affair with the NFL.  What better way to acknowledge the FANS by "giving" them the day off?
