Show Preview: Melodic Grooves/Fiasco, Stonefly and The True Spokes @ The Seasons Performance Hall
After more than 10 years, local favorites, Melodic Grooves/Fiasco are performing a one night only reunion show at The Seasons Performance Hall this Friday, February 8th. Another blast from the past, Stonefly, (featuring UPAS frontman Rusty Forgey) will be joining in on the festivities as well. Pivotal to Yakima’s music scene of the late 90′s, both of these groups played at numerous venues in town including The Zone, and the Selah Civic Center. The band also founded the infamous 5 bands for $5, and were instrumental in creating a music scene that has only recently has re-emerged in the valley.
After playing The Seasons in late 2012, Grooves member and Selah native Aaron Daniel, decided to bring back the group consisting of him, Jeff Leonard and Shelby Cuyle for one night only performance. Daniel has kept himself busy the past year, playing sold out shows in Seattle and even playing overseas. His act “Aaron Daniel One Man Banned” has been earning rave reviews for his use of vocal looping. Daniel has supported acts such as Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Voice finalist and local favorite Vicci Martinez.
As well as Melodic Grooves/Fiasco, and Stonefly, The True Spokes (formerally FloMotion) make their way back to Central Washington, after headlining last year’s Chinook Music Festival. The founders of the annual Summer Meltdown Festival last played The Seasons in 2011, when they were the after hours band for the Crooked Christmas Extravaganza. Be prepared to get your groove on as well as once they starting playing, it’s hard not to dance.
