I think I am addicted to Google. I Google-search everything. If my front page is another search engine I get out of there and go right back to Google. Besides searching for what I want at a particular time, there is always something educational on Google's front page to keep me intrigued for hours. Right below the actual search bar for Google is a toggle of sorts. You can click on it and it will take you to random places. One of the toggles asks "Do you feel lucky?" I felt lucky, so I clicked on it. The question that it gave me was fascinating.
Back in the day, when I used to date a lot, I always had a "list" in the back of my mind for dating. Of course, I would ask some standard questions and if there was a "no" in any of them, the date was over. I know that's kind of harsh, but it is the truth. So, I had a "dating resume. I just didn't put it on paper. But a Michigan kid has, and it works.
While I was growing up, my mom used to give me a bath before I went to sleep. As I got older she used to tell me that I needed to shower so I'd be clean when I got in my sheets. When I had my child my mom finally told me the truth -- that taking a bath or a shower helps soothe the savage beast. Ha! I wasn't that crazy. But she's right, water truly does calm a person. That has not changed, long after I've grown up.
Pizza is something I need to eat at least once a month. I cannot afford it all of the time, so once a month has to do. I cannot wait for that day. I love all kinds of toppings on my pizza. I like the normal pepperoni and cheese. Who doesn't love a all meat pizza? But what about those crazy toppings you hear people talk about that they would never have?
Recent reports say that Donald Trump wants to do away with after-school programs for 2 million children. I am almost positive that this is not a good idea. I have volunteered for many after-school programs in my life. I have helped with my daughters over the years, and as far as I can tell, after-school programs are much needed in our communities.
Chuck Berry was a true genius. He shaped many different kinds of music. Old school music may have not happened the way it did if it weren't influenced by the great Chuck Berry. We lost him on Saturday (March 18), but for us old schoolers, Chuck Berry will never die.
We had a blast at Dozer Day at State Fair Park with the Central Washington Home Builders Association! The kids had fun and so did us adults. Driving the dozers and other heavy equipment made me want to change careers. Well, maybe not the hardworking part, but man, what a lot of fun!
So your ears are still ringing this morning and you're so dog-tired that you've already been through three mugs of coffee. You'll live.
And even if you don't, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you at least lived to see one of the best rock shows Yakima's had in years -- Journey and Asia packed the Yakima Valley SunDome Wednesday night, delighting a packed house with some signature sounds and a colorful light show...
Yup, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday (March 18-19) at State Fair Park, 1301 S. Fair Ave., kids' biggest dreams can come true: They'll have the chance to play in the dirt and operate heavy construction equipment!
It's almost like going to the fair -- except the rides are even better, since YOU get to drive!
Legendary rock band Journey will grace the Yakima Valley with their presence tonight (March 15) at the Yakima Valley SunDome. Their special guest will be Asia! I cannot wait. They are both amazing bands.
If you appreciate a sweet chassis -- whether it's on a car, truck, bike or a bodybuilder -- and you didn't get to attend last weekend's Central Washington Custom Car and Cycle Show, here are some photos from the Yakima Valley Convention Center to give you a little taste. We had a blast!
