Evolve, the hotly-anticipated asymmetrical shooter from Turtle Rock Studios, is launching an alpha for North American gamers, Kotaku reports.

Today is the day to sign up, since publisher 2K Games wants to finalize the list of players by tomorrow, July 5. To be considered for the alpha, players with a Steam account can head over to the sign-up site. At the prompt, enter the password "happyhunting" and referral code "JoinTheHunt", and wait to see if you've been selected.

The alpha is only available for North American players, which is appropriate considering the date. I know it’s not Canadian Independence Day, but they’re basically a suburb of America, so they can play too, I guess.

Evolve blew viewers away at E3 with its four-on-one gameplay and incredible visuals, and promises to be one of the year’s biggest and best titles. Turtle Rock previously developed the Left 4 Dead games for Valve, which garnered universal critical acclaim and commercial success. Evolve will be available on October 21 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
