I know I am not the only one seeing this unfold this evening on social media.

At first I thought it was a hoax.

A joke.

I had a number of people shook up seeing the video stream on their newsfeeds before Facebook began filtering and taking it down.

It was real and it is still happening.

Someone finally put the worst-case scenario for the Facebook Live feature to use and streamed killing an innocent man.

The whole thing was on Facebook. For details go here.

Last night in Yakima there were shots fired all over downtown streets and at yet another convenience store.

I could see it unfold on social media with the various Yakima-area scan pages.

I was tempted to go on a rant about the City Council wasting time with homeless camps and sanctuary city arguments when our city is just as violent as the rest of the country at the moment. What are we doing to address the fact that the Yakima Police are being overwhelmed at the moment?

Maybe I should go on a long-overdue rant.

Depending on what happens at the next council meeting I might have no choice.

I hate to be the guy who says for the moment the answer is more guns, but do you really want to sitting at the gas station at night without one?
What about when some random idiot tries to rob a store when you're just trying to get a tea from the cooler? I know I don't want to be standing there with just my cellphone to live-stream my death. You can't depend on grainy security footage to be a deterrent in Yakima anymore.
