Al took part in the "Night of Too Many Stars," a benefit for autism education and programs, which aired Sunday Night (March 8) on Comedy Central and performed his parody of The Kinks' "Lola," titled "Yoda," with Jodi DiPiazza, who was also joined by the Actionplay Chorus, a group of children with autism.

Hero Golden Retriever Rescues Missing Autistic Child

The parents of 5-year-old Scotty Meyer, who suffers from autism, were fear stricken when they realized their son had disappeared. The family officially reported him missing midday last Tuesday, convinced that he had slipped out of the house while their air conditioning was being repaired. Fortunately, he was found the next morning thanks to the help of one furry little guy on four legs — an 8-year-old Golden Retriever named Autumn.

Kid Rock Donates to Northwest Autism Center And Second Harvest Food Bank

On the final stop of the 12 city “CARE” tour Kid Rock announced the local recipients of a portion of the more than $400,000 dollars to be donated. Kid Rock has assembled a team of Detroit titans to show support for other cities in need, and to show that Detroit, while experiencing its own difficulties still has the power to unite to help others around the country. Kid Rock, in association with this powerhouse group of local Detroit business people, will donate money to local charities, causes and individuals via the Kid Rock Foundation, all along every stop of his underplay club tour. Radio station partners in each tour market will help determine those individuals and organizations in need.

Spokane’s recipients are: Northwest Autism Center and Second Harvest Food Bank.
