Beastie Boys have signed a deal to release a memoir, the New York Times reports. The still-untitled book celebrates the band’s history and aesthetic, as documented by surviving members Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Mike “Mike D” Diamond.

It still doesn't seem real that Beastie Boys member Adam 'MCA' Yauch passed away earlier this year. As a part of one of modern music's most definitive group, the man was an innovator of the highest order. There has been countless tributes paid to MCA since his death, and the latest homage was delivered with style by GWAR front-thing Oderus Urungus and current tourmates Cancer Bats, as they came together for a performance of the Beastie Boys classic 'Sabotage.'

Cee Lo Green, of all people, hit the stage of the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night in Las Vegas to pay tribute to late Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch with a lively run-through of the B-Boys classic ‘(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!).’ ‘The Voice’ coach was joined by his recently reunited band Goodie Mob, the Atlanta-based hip-hop collective, for the performance.

Nobody can fill the extra-large Adidas sneakers favored by the Beastie Boys, but the Roots, Kid Rock and Travie McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes nobly did their best last month when the B-Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Adam “MCA” Yauch called in sick at the 11th hour — Yauch’s mom later revealed he was admitted into the hospital that very night as he continued to battle cancer, a battle that sadly ended Friday (May 4) when Yauch passed away at the age of 47.
