Former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr has died at the age of 56. The legendary musician had been suffering from multiple sclerosis for many years, and although an official cause of death has not yet been revealed, the band reports that Burr passed away in his sleep last night at his home.

Iron Maiden have just announced that the band will extensively tour North America in 2012 for two months from June through August with special guest Alice Cooper until July 21 and special guests Coheed and Cambria from July 21 until the end of the tour.
