Those 18 yea-old and younger are required by have proof of eligibility in the form of a current school photo ID card, a valid government-issued ID card, a birth certificate, or a free Yakima Transit Youth Card

The mask is optional. That's the word from Yakima City officials who say masks are now optional on both Yakima Transit buses and inside the terminal at the Yakima airport.

But masks will still be required on Yakima Transit and at the airport.

Yakima Transit is once again going to offer a FREE shuttle bus service to this year's community Independence Day celebration at the fairgrounds on Sunday, July 4.

Yakima Transit has teamed up with Yakima Parks and Recreation to bring you FREE bus rides this summer. With every paid admission to Lions Pool, Franklin Pool, or YMCA Rotary Aquatic Center Pools (5th North Naches in Yakima or 38 River Road in Yakima) you will receive two bus passes! One for the trip home and one for your next pool adventure.

Yakima Swimmers Offered Summer Transportation to & From Pools

Although his actual birthday was last week, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. is honored federally on the third Monday in January each year. Besides all public schools being closed in observance, here are other entities within Yakima that will not be operating on January 20th.

Yakima Transit will provide free shuttle bus service to the Yakima Area Arboretum’s 2019 Luminaria Candle-Lit Walk event on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th.

Yakima, as well as Union Gap, Transit will once again offer free shuttle bus service to and from State Fair Park during the Central Washington State Fair.

Franklin Pool opens its doors for the first time this year on Thursday, June 14th. The pool will be open seven days a week from June 14th through August 25th.

Yakima Transit will once again be providing free shuttle bus service to the Central Washington State Fair all ten days of the fair. Shuttle buses will run continuously from the Park and Ride location at Gateway Center. Passengers can get on at the bus stop located north of the former Office Max and head directly to the front gates of the fair, saving on parking fees.
