The Most Unique Buildings In Yakima – Our Top Five

Track 29 is unique because it's a train. Like, literally, a train that doesn't function anymore. They've decided to hollow out the cars and turn each in to it's own businesses. You can stroll along the boardwalk and check out Truly Scrumptious Bakery, Russillo's and many more.

In jolly olde England, they used to have castles all over the place. One of them apparently migrated over to 48th off of Tieton and turned in to a flower and gift shop. When I was growing up in Yakima I thought it was so cool that we had a castle in town. It's actually a very cool floral shop, you should check it out sometime, if nothing more than to see what it's like to be inside a castle.

A great bar with good food, cold beer and good people. Having trouble finding this place on south 1st street? Just say “It's the bar with the windmill on it.” They'll know exactly what you're talking about.

Along with having the classic giant blue sign on south 1st street, they also have a fantastically recognizable building. It's a giant, blue half-silo that you can't miss.

Our friends in Zillah have a fun, easy-to-see location off of I-82 on your way to Tri-Cities. This full service gas station built in the 20s is now a No Service gas station – as in, it shut down a few years back. Zillah bought the property in hopes to make it operational again. For nostalgia sake, let's hope so.
