Last night's sold-out concert headlined by Washington natives Macklemore (aka Ben Haggerty) and Ryan Lewis proved to be a massive hit by both those who saw the show and those who came out to the Season's Performance Hall in downtown Yakima just to take part in the pre-function.

I took my 11 year-old son, Drew, to the event for our last big summer blowout before school starts up again and bedtime will be more like 9:00 o'clock and not midnight!

He managed to weasel his way up to the front of stage left with his homemade "My Oh My" song-request placard while I stayed in my fourth row pew. I was able to keep my eye on him while he bobbed and waved with each tune. Besides, the pit area is definitely a younger man's territory!

We got a couple of typically overpriced souvenirs. Me a Yakima-specific t-shirt and Drew a trucker hat with the "Camping Trip" tour logo, a backpack and tin camping-style cup. The most unique souvenir Drew wound up with though was a broken drumstick nestled inside a stale hot dog bun. You see, during the show Macklemore brought out a little Weber grill and roasted some weenies on it before tossing them into the throng. Not sure if we can get that shadowboxed or not.

Here's a glimpse of our most memorable night:
