Todd’s Take: Christmas Lights Won’t Work? Try This!
As much a yearly tradition as hanging stocking by the chimney with care, sure as s--t, my Christmas lights won't work.
For the THIRD consecutive year, my wife and I have been disappointed to find that after pulling box after box of decorations from the attic, the strands of 200-bulb lights have malfunctioned. The past two years, I have gotten so frustrated trying to change fuses smaller than mouse turds and chase down burnt-out bulbs that can't be located that I have simply pitched them all in the trash and purchased more.
This year will be different. I hope.
After lamenting this problem on "The Big Show" this morning, I received a phone call from longtime KATS listener and all-around swell guy Zeb Ruff. Zeb told me about a handy tool that will locate the faulty bulb and send a pulse of electricity down the circuit to correct the problem.
After a quick Google search, I may have found what could be the greatest Christmas gift ever. The Light Keeper Pro. They seem to run around 20 bucks. A far cry from the $60-$80 I have dumped the past two holiday seasons to replace what I THOUGHT were basically inoperable strings.
They seem to be sold at virtually most chain hardware and home improvement stores as well as some craft stores. Here is a list of retail outlets and here is a quick video on how this little beauty works.
