My brother Justin and I have been Seahawks season ticket holders for over a decade and fans of the team as long as we can remember.  Year after year we'd re-up our tickets with the hopes that SOMEDAY the Hawks would eventually make it to the Super Bowl and we could be in attendance for that magical day.  Obviously, that wish came true last year and again Sunday.
The other reason we own our seats collectively is that it gives us a great excuse to see each other.  We are only a year and a half apart in age but are separated now by 200 miles and the Cascade Range. For a few Sundays each fall, we get to see each other once again, talk Seahawks and share the experience of NFL football together, much like we did growing up.

Sunday was a wet, cloudy day in Seattle (!).  I met my brother and his friends for some pre-game tailgating before heading inside Century Link Field for kick-off of the NFC Championship game where we hoped to again witness the Seahawks advance to their second straight Super Bowl.  Needless to say...  it didn't go well for much of the afternoon (see: my face pictured above).

When the magic dust had finally finished settling on the 12s and the Seattle faithful went berserk following a miraculous, last-minute win, I remembered that I was just as happy to be sharing that moment with my brother.

Sure, we celebrated by hugging each other maniacally, but we probably would have done that even if they had lost.

Here are some pics from the game from my vantage point:
