There is an actual Twitter account called "S--t My Dad Says" that has been around since 2009. It has even spawned a TV series by the same name. I wish I had thought of it first because my dad has some gems of his own.

Instead, I'll use this space to show you s--t my dad saves.

Although the headline says "hoards," that wouldn't be 100 percent accurate since you can still, somewhat, walk through my dad's house -- unlike those people who actually suffer from a mental illness that doesn't allow them to throw away anything. The stuff my dad hangs onto clearly has some sentimental value or meaning behind it.

I have to admit, I now know where I get some of it from. I have boxes and boxes of old magazines, ticket stubs, T-shirts, posters and the like that I just can't seem to part with.

What I'm about to show you now is just one tiny corner of my pop's living room and all of the trinkets that he has preserved:
