As Motley Crue are ramping up to their “Final Tour,” drummer Tommy Lee is as busy as ever.

Lee tells Billboard that he just finished the drums for the new Crue track ‘All Bad Things Must End,’ a song that will give the band something new to play and promote while on their trek this summer. Lee says it’s the band’s hope to have the new song ready for a greatest hits album that will coincide with the tour, which starts in July.

Of the track, Lee states, “We’re just mixing and getting it together. It’s pretty heavy, but it’s really melodic. It’s definitely about this time right now with the band and what the feeling is and kind of all that wrapped up into a song. I hate to say it’s like a goodbye, but it definitely references our time here.”

And there’s a reason that Lee hates to say it’s a goodbye, because as far as new music goes, it may not be the last we hear from them. While their career as a touring act is concluding, Lee reiterated that continued recording is not out of the question. He explained, “Making music is still an open conversation, so who knows. Maybe there’s some more music for us down there.”

Lee also chimed in on the band’s upcoming big screen adaptation of their 2001′s biography, ‘The Dirt.’ He revealed that he and Nikki Sixx recently met with director Jeff Tremaine for the first read-through of the script, which he calls “the most f—ing insanely surrealistic experience I’ve ever sat through.” Lee promises that the film is not holding back, and he adds, “Just the way the movie starts, you’re like, ‘How the hell are we gonna rate this thing? Triple R?’”

The drummer also addressed his recent contribution to the upcoming Smashing Pumpkins album, on which he plays drums on every track. “I think [Billy Corgan] has probably the best record he’s ever written,” Lee says. “These are like epic, goose-bump songs. It sounds like the first couple of Smashing Pumpkins records. I was f—ing blown away.”
