It seems that a lot of our most well-known gaming companies are having a rough go of it lately starting with Sony and now heading to Nintendo and its cancelled amiibo Figures.

Update: According to JoyStiq, a Toys 'R' Us spokesperson has told them that pre-orders for the Lucario amiibo figure have not been canceled and that the emails sent out earlier this morning indicating that they were canceled were part of a "technical issue." Toys 'R' Us also said, "we apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused pertaining to customers' amiibo pre-orders. Please know that we are working on an email communication to all customers effected, which will provide instructions on how we plan to fulfill their order."

The original story follows below:

Nintendo's new amiibo figures have been a hot topic for quite some time, and now Chris Kohler reported on Twitter that people are taking to Reddit to exclaim about pre-order woes. First, certain figures would be retail exclusive, then a "defective" Samus figure sold for an exorbitant amount of money on eBay, then Nintendo said some less popular figures would be discontinued (and then took it back). and now Toys 'R' Us is stumbling around with its exclusive Lucario figure.

It seems that, for reasons we don't yet know, Toys 'R' Us has canceled all of its pre-orders for amiibo Figures. Not only does this include its Toys 'R' Us-exclusive Lucario figure, but others have seen their other pre-orders from the store cancelled.

There hasn't been a solution to the problem as of yet, but it seems that the pre-orders are back on. People are speculating that it has something to do with the buy one get one 40% off deal that Toys R Us was having, but that has yet to be confirmed.

For right now, it seems that all people can do is wait for Toys R Us to figure out what it's doing and and try once again to pre-order their amiibo Figures.
