This week has been a bit rough on the Seattle Mariners.  After winning a season high eight consecutive games, the M's split a four game series with the lowly Minnesota Twins and have lost the first two games on their current east coast road trip to the Boston Red Sox, including a 15-inning crusher last night.

Despite their recent struggles, the Mariners defense managed to turn in two sparkling gems of which the likes are rarely seen.

The first occurred in last night's contest.  The BoSox had the winning run at third with only one out when the following play unfolded:

The next occurred in two night's ago in game one at Fenway Park when Jose Iglesias ripped an apparent double off the Green Monster:

The moral of the story?

No matter how many games or innings you've seen, you should never turn off the game!
